Who we are

SnapFlip is operated by [Business owner legal name], [Registered address, London, UK] ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@snapflip.app.

What we collect and why

• Account details (email address, language, eBay site, nickname and your preferences) to run your account. Legal basis: contract.
• Scanner photos. When you use the scanner, your photo is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to identify items. We do not store the photo. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms and does not use it to train models. Legal basis: contract (or legitimate interests if you are not signed in).
• Scan results (item names, estimated prices, totals) so you can see and share them. Anyone with a share link can see that result, never the photo.
• Usage records (how many scans you have made, and when) to apply free-plan limits and stop abuse. For visitors who are not signed in we use a random first-party cookie and a hash of your IP address that changes daily. We never store your raw IP address. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Product analytics (pages viewed, features used) only if you accept analytics cookies. We use PostHog hosted in the EU. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer.
• Photo station photos never leave your device. Background removal and editing run in your browser.

Who we share data with

We use trusted providers to run the service: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI item recognition), eBay (we send short product search terms, never your personal data, to get price comparisons) and PostHog (analytics, only with consent). When paid plans launch we will add Stripe (payments) and Resend (email). Some providers are in the United States; transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open and deleted when you delete your account. Usage records for signed-out visitors are deleted after 90 days, and scan results from signed-out visitors after 12 months. AI cost logs are kept for up to 2 years for accounting, without your email.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Signed-in users can download their data and delete their account from the Account page at any time. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests, and complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

Age

You must be at least 13 to use SnapFlip. Selling on eBay and Vinted requires you to be 18 or over, or to sell through a parent or guardian's account in line with those platforms' rules.

Changes

If we make important changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they apply.
