Getting started
What is SnapFlip?
SnapFlip is a set of tools for people selling second-hand on eBay and Vinted. You can photo a pile of stuff to see what could be worth selling, take clean product photos with your phone, get listings written from your photos, and keep track of what you actually made after fees and costs.
Is it free?
Yes, to start. You can try a few scans a day without an account, and a free account gives you a monthly allowance of scans and AI listings. The photo station and the free tools don't need an account at all.
Paid plans add more listings and selling tools. The pricing page always shows the current plans and limits.
Which countries and languages do you support?
SnapFlip is in English, French and Spanish, and is built for sellers in the UK, France and Spain. Prices and fees cover eBay UK, US, Germany, France and Spain.
Are you part of eBay or Vinted?
No. SnapFlip is independent and isn't affiliated with eBay or Vinted. We connect to eBay through its official API when you choose to connect your account, and we never log in to Vinted for you.
I use another tool. Can I bring my stock over?
Yes. Export your stock as a CSV from your current tool or spreadsheet and import it: every row becomes a draft listing. The switching page explains what changes and how.
Scanner
How do I get a good scan?
Take one photo of a room, rail, shelf or pile in good light. Step back so everything is in shot and open cupboard doors. You don't need to lay things out. If nothing is found, try more light or a closer photo.
How accurate are the prices?
They are AI estimates of typical second-hand prices for the item and the condition it can see, shown as a range. They are not guarantees. Condition, demand and your photos change what you actually get, so tap through to compare with similar listings on eBay before you set a price.
How many scans can I do?
Without an account you get a few scans a day. A free account gives you a monthly allowance, and paid plans give you more. Your account page shows how many you've used this month, and the pricing page shows the current limits.
Do you keep my scan photos?
No. Scanner photos are sent to our AI provider to identify the items and are not stored by us. We keep only the result (item names and price ranges) so you can see it again and share it.
I only want to price one item. What should I use?
Use the price checker for a single item, or the barcode scanner for books, games, DVDs and other boxed items. At a car boot or charity shop, Buy or skip tells you whether there's likely to be profit after fees before you pay.
Photo station
How does the photo station work?
Prop your phone up, point it at a plain surface and choose a mode. Conveyor belt shoots when you place an item and it's still, then starts a new group for the next item. Turntable takes a photo every few seconds while the item turns. Manual lets you tap the shutter yourself.
Are my product photos uploaded?
No. Background removal, light fixing and cropping run on your phone. Photos are never uploaded by the photo station. The first time you remove a background your phone downloads the background-remover model, which takes a moment.
What is the shot checklist?
Pick a category (clothing, shoes, electronics, or books and games) and the checklist shows the shots buyers expect, such as labels, soles, ports or the spine. It ticks off as you take photos, and you can tap a shot to tick or untick it.
What's the difference between the eBay and Vinted sets?
The eBay set uses cut-outs on the plain background you chose. The Vinted set uses your real photo with only the light fix and crop, because some Vinted sellers find studio-style cut-outs get mistaken for stock photos. You can export both. eBay doesn't allow borders, text or watermarks on photos, so the station never adds them.
Can I make a cover photo for a bundle?
Yes. The bundle cover maker turns several photos into one cover image. You can open it from the photo station or directly.
Listings and stock
How do I create a listing?
Add 1 to 12 photos of one item, plus anything the photos don't show (size, flaws, what's included). The AI writes the title, description and item specifics for eBay and Vinted and suggests a price. Check every detail before you post: it is written from your photos and can get things wrong.
How do I describe condition and add measurements?
In the listing editor, the condition guide lets you pick an honest grade, sets the eBay and Vinted condition and adds standard wording, plus any flaws you describe. The measurements helper has templates for tops, trousers, dresses, skirts, shoes and bags, and adds them to the description. The listing doctor scores the listing and suggests fixes.
Can I import listings from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Upload a CSV and every row becomes a draft listing. We look for columns such as title, description, price, brand, condition, cost, sku, quantity, notes and location, and ignore the rest. Up to 500 rows at a time.
What are the product safety (GPSR) details for?
Business sellers selling to buyers in the EU or Northern Ireland must show the manufacturer's details, plus an EU responsible person when the manufacturer is outside the EU. Save them once and add them to a listing in one tap. Private sellers don't need this. It's a helper, not legal advice.
How do I keep track of where my stock is?
The inventory page shows what you're holding, how long each item has been listed and where it's stored. Give items a location (a bin, box or shelf), print QR stock labels for items and bins, and print a packing slip with a thank-you note when something sells.
Vinted
Does SnapFlip post to Vinted for me?
No. Vinted doesn't offer a public API and doesn't allow automation, so we never log in to Vinted for you. Instead, the Vinted tab of each listing lets you copy each field and save the photos, then paste them into Vinted yourself.
Why no bot or browser extension?
Bots and extensions that log in as you or post automatically go against Vinted's rules and can put your account at risk. SnapFlip has no bots, no extensions and never asks for your Vinted password, so there's nothing for Vinted to ban.
How does SnapFlip know an item is on Vinted?
After you've pasted it into Vinted, tap "I've listed it on Vinted" in the listing. That's how SnapFlip knows to remind you later if the item sells somewhere else.
How do I avoid selling the same item twice?
Mark the item as sold wherever it sold. If it sold on Vinted while it's live on eBay, SnapFlip ends the eBay listing for you. If it sold on eBay and it's still on Vinted, we remind you to remove it from Vinted, because we can't do that for you.
Can I copy listings to other sites?
Yes. The listing editor has ready-to-paste versions for other marketplaces, such as Depop, Facebook Marketplace, Wallapop and Leboncoin. You paste them in yourself: we never post to or log in to those sites.
eBay
How do I connect my eBay account?
Open a listing, go to the eBay tab and tap Connect eBay. You sign in on eBay's own site and approve access; SnapFlip never sees your eBay password. Posting to eBay is part of the paid plans, so check the pricing page for what's included.
How does posting to eBay work?
Check the title, price, condition and photos, then tap Post to eBay. Posting happens on our servers through eBay's official API, so you can close the app. eBay needs your postage, payment and returns policies set up in Seller Hub first. If eBay rejects a listing, we show you eBay's reason.
What happens to the eBay listing if the item sells on Vinted?
Mark the item as sold on Vinted in SnapFlip and we end the live eBay listing for you, so it can't sell twice.
Can I bring my eBay sales into the profit tracker?
Yes. With eBay connected, use Sync eBay sales on the profit page to pull in your sales. You can also mark any item as sold yourself and enter the sale price, postage and fees.
Profit and tax
How is profit worked out?
For each sale we take the sale price and postage the buyer paid, then subtract marketplace fees, promoted listing fees, your postage cost and what you paid for the item. If you leave fees empty, we estimate them from public fee tables and mark them as estimates.
Is there a tax-year summary?
Yes. The profit page has a tax-year summary (the UK tax year for UK sellers, the calendar year in the EU) that you can download as a CSV or print and save as a PDF. It helps you keep records; it is not tax advice. Check gov.uk or your national tax authority, or speak to an accountant.
Can I log mileage and see where I buy best?
Yes. The mileage log records trips to car boots, charity shops and the post office. The sourcing report shows which places make you money once you tag each item with where you bought it and what you paid. Expenses such as packaging and postage supplies can be added on the profit page too.
Will eBay or Vinted report my sales to the tax authority?
Platforms report sellers who pass certain thresholds each year to HMRC in the UK and to tax authorities in the EU (DAC7). Being reported doesn't automatically mean you owe tax. The tax threshold checker explains the thresholds and links to the official guidance.
Plans and billing
What plans are there?
There's a free plan and paid plans for regular and serious sellers, plus a Business plan for shops and teams. Monthly and yearly billing are available, and yearly gives you two months free. The pricing page lists what each plan includes and which features are live today.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, a 7-day Pro trial. You won't be charged before the trial ends, and we remind you before it does. You can cancel during the trial from your account.
How do I cancel?
Go to your account and choose Cancel subscription. It takes a couple of taps. Telling us why is optional. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for and won't be charged again. Changed your mind? Tap Keep my subscription before the period ends.
Can I pause instead of cancelling?
Yes. Pause for 1, 2 or 3 months from your account. While paused there are no charges and paid features are off, but your listings and data stay. Resume whenever you like.
Where are my invoices, and how do I change my card?
On your account page, tap Manage billing and invoices. You can download invoices and update your card there. If a payment fails, your account page tells you so you can update your card and keep your plan.
What is founder pricing?
Our first members get a lower price on paid plans, locked in for as long as they stay subscribed. The pricing page shows whether founder pricing is still available.
Your data and privacy
How do I download my data?
On your account page, tap Download my data for a JSON file with your profile, scans and usage. You can also export every listing as a CSV from your listings or inventory page, and your sales for a tax year from the profit page.
How do I delete my account?
On your account page, under Your data, type DELETE and confirm. This deletes your account and all your data and can't be undone, so download anything you want to keep first. If you have a paid plan, it's cancelled as part of deleting your account.
What do you do with my data?
We use it to run SnapFlip for you. We don't sell it. The privacy policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and your rights. The cookie policy explains the cookies we use, and you can change your cookie choices at any time from the footer.
Your account
How do I sign in?
Use your email and a password, ask us to email you a sign-in link instead, or continue with Google where it's offered. Tick Remember me to stay signed in on your own device.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in page, tap Forgot password? and enter your email. If there's an account for that email, we send a link to choose a new password. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
What can I change in settings?
Your language, your default eBay site, whether you sell as a private or business seller (this changes the eBay fees we use), your nickname, whether you appear on leaderboards, whether your anonymised totals go into public stats, and whether we email you tips.
Will other people see my name or sales?
Only if you choose. Leaderboards show sellers who turned them on, by nickname rather than your name. Public stats only use anonymised totals, and only if you opt in.
How do referrals work?
Share your link. When a friend signs up and subscribes to a paid plan, you both get a month's credit on your next bill. One reward per friend, and self-referrals don't count.
Free tools and guides
What free tools are there?
A fees calculator for eBay, Vinted, Depop and Facebook Marketplace, a size converter, a Vinted Pro quiz, a tax threshold checker and an ROI calculator. They're free and don't need an account.
Where do the fee figures come from?
Each figure comes from the platform's published fee page, linked next to it with the date we last checked. Fees change often: anything we haven't re-checked recently is marked as an estimate, and if we don't know a fee we say so instead of guessing.
Can SnapFlip answer buyer messages?
The reply templates give you ready-made answers to common buyer messages (is it still available, offers, postage, returns). Copy one, check it, and paste it into eBay or Vinted yourself. SnapFlip never sends messages for you.
Do you have guides for selling specific things?
Yes. The selling guides cover categories from trainers to furniture: what buyers check, which photos to take, what to put in the title and how to post it. The glossary explains reseller jargon, and the parcel size guide helps you pick the right parcel size for each carrier.
How do I find out what's new or suggest something?
The What's new page lists every update, newest first, and the roadmap shows what we're building next. Suggestions are welcome by email.
